Doctoral thesis:
A study of Pragmatic Countermeasures for Implementation-related Vulnerabilities in Web Applications, performed as part of employment at the Global Security Analysis Lab of IBM Research Zürich. This work resulted in five patents in the area of Applied Computer Security and Privacy Policy Enforcement.
Master's thesis:
A study of the Java security architecture. In particular, the Acunia (http://www.acunia.com) Java-based telematics platform was used to study security issues for mobile code on embedded Java systems. This resulted in the design and implementation of an improved Java bytecode verification algorithm that reduces the memory footprint of Java bytecode verifiers drastically.
This thesis received the yearly Krypton (http://www.krypton.be) thesis award, which rewards theses in cooperation with the industry that presented excellent pratical results.
Extra curricular activities:
Student representative in the Faculty Council of Engineering.
